PRODUCT DETAILS
Overview
Low Pressure CO₂ Fire Extinguishing Equipment is a highly effective fire suppression system designed to combat fires in areas with electrical and sensitive equipment. This system uses carbon dioxide (CO₂) gas, stored in liquid form under low pressure, as the extinguishing agent. The system consists of CO₂ storage cylinders, discharge nozzles, and a piping network that delivers CO₂ gas to the protected area. CO₂ is a clean agent that suppresses fires by displacing oxygen and lowering the temperature in the affected area, making it ideal for protecting valuable assets without causing secondary damage.
Fire Suppression Principle
The CO₂ fire extinguishing system operates by releasing CO₂ gas into the protected space, which rapidly reduces the oxygen concentration, thus suffocating the fire and preventing its spread. CO₂ also absorbs heat during its expansion and vaporization, which aids in cooling and suppressing the fire. When the system detects a fire through automated detection devices (such as smoke, heat, or flame sensors), it triggers the release of CO₂ from the storage cylinders into the area to achieve rapid fire suppression. CO₂ is particularly effective for electrical (Class C) and flammable liquid (Class B) fires.
Application Scope
Low Pressure CO₂ Fire Extinguishing Equipment is commonly used in areas where sensitive electronic equipment or valuable assets are at risk from fire. Typical applications include:
- Data Centers: Protecting servers, network equipment, and critical data storage.
- Telecommunication Equipment: Ensuring the safety of communication stations, equipment rooms, and electrical panels.
- Control Rooms: Protecting electrical control panels, substations, and switchgear.
- Marine and Aircraft: Used in engine rooms, cargo holds, and other confined spaces where fire hazards are present.
- Museums and Archives: Safeguarding valuable artifacts and sensitive materials from fire damage without causing residue or corrosion.
Features
- Clean Agent: CO₂ is a non-residue, non-conductive, and environmentally friendly fire suppressing agent. It does not damage sensitive equipment and leaves no residue, making it ideal for high-value protection.
- Efficient Fire Suppression: CO₂ effectively reduces oxygen levels and absorbs heat, rapidly extinguishing fires with a small volume of gas.
- No Electrical Interference: CO₂ is non-conductive, making it suitable for electrical and electronic equipment protection (Class C fires).
- Low Environmental Impact: With a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 1 and zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP), CO₂ is considered a more sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative to other extinguishing agents.
- Rapid Response: The system provides quick fire detection and suppression, minimizing the damage caused by fire and limiting downtime.
- Manual and Automatic Activation: The system can be activated manually or automatically, depending on the fire detection method used (smoke, heat, or flame detectors).
