PRODUCT DETAILS

Product Description

The mechanism of a water-based fire extinguisher operates on the principle of physical fire suppression. The fire extinguishing agent is primarily composed of hydrocarbon surfactants, fluorocarbon surfactants, flame retardants, and auxiliary components.

For Class A fires (such as wood, cloth, and other solid combustibles), the agent has a penetrating effect, enabling it to infiltrate the combustible materials. Even in large fires that cannot be completely extinguished at once, the agent effectively blocks the fire source and slows the fire’s spread.

For Class B fires (such as gasoline and volatile chemicals), the agent forms a long-lasting water film on the surface of the burning substance. Even if this film is disrupted by external factors, the agent’s unique fluidity allows it to quickly repair and suffocate the flames. As a result, water-based fire extinguishers offer superior flame retardancy compared to other extinguishing methods.

Water-based fire extinguishers are effective in a variety of environments—indoor, outdoor, and high-wind conditions. The agent can maximize its effect on the surface of the combustion material, enhancing the suppression ability.

How It Works

Water-based fire extinguishers operate based on the principle of physical fire suppression. The fire extinguishing agents are composed of hydrocarbon surfactants, fluorocarbon surfactants, flame retardants, and additives. When deployed, the extinguisher generates a water mist that rapidly evaporates, absorbing a large amount of heat from the fire. This cooling effect quickly lowers the temperature at the fire site and inhibits thermal radiation.

The surfactants form a water film over the surface of the combustibles, which effectively isolates the fire from oxygen. The combination of cooling and oxygen isolation helps to extinguish the fire quickly by both cooling the fuel and preventing re-ignition.

Scope of Application

Water-based fire extinguishers are suitable for the initial suppression of fires in the following categories:

  • Class A Fires: Combustible solids such as wood, fabric, paper, and textiles.
  • Class B Fires: Flammable liquids and volatile chemicals.
  • Class E Fires: Electrical fires (non-live electrical equipment).
  • Class F Fires: Cooking oils and fats (typically in commercial kitchens).

These extinguishers are suitable for initial fires in flammable solids or insoluble liquids, but not for live electrical equipment fires. They are essential fire-fighting products for wood, bamboo, fabric, paper, and oil processing, storage, and transportation.
