IG100 Nitrogen (N2) Fire Extinguishing System

PRODUCT DETAILS

Overview

Nitrogen (N2), also known as IG100, is a fire extinguishing agent derived from the nitrogen that makes up 78% of the Earth's atmosphere. It fully integrates the design concepts of modern fire suppression systems, successfully combining environmental protection with high-efficiency fire suppression capabilities. IG100 has characteristics such as protecting the ecological environment, being safe and hygienic with no impact on visibility, causing no contamination during fire suppression, and providing sustained extinguishing effectiveness.

Nitrogen can be separated from the air, making it widely available and low in refilling costs. As a major component of the atmosphere, IG100 has an Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) of 0, a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 0, and an atmospheric residence time of zero, meaning it has no adverse environmental impact. IG100 is colorless, odorless, and non-toxic, ensuring it is harmless to humans. Moreover, it does not generate any chemical substances during the fire suppression process, eliminating the risk of secondary contamination to equipment. The release of IG100 does not produce fog, ensuring that visibility is not impaired and allowing personnel to evacuate in an orderly manner.

Fire Extinguishing Principle

When the fire extinguishing system is in automatic control mode and a fire occurs within the protected area, the fire detectors send a fire alarm signal. The alarm controller immediately issues both visual and audible alarm signals. The gas fire suppression controller receives two independent fire alarm signals and sends out an interlocking command to deactivate the interlocking equipment. After a delay of 30 seconds (which can be adjusted), the controller sends a fire suppression command, opening the corresponding solenoid valve for the protected area. This triggers the activation of the driving gas. The driving gas passes through the activation pipeline, opening the appropriate selection valve and container valve to release the extinguishing agent, thereby suppressing the fire.

Application Scope

The IG100 Fire Extinguishing System is suitable for extinguishing the following types of fires:

  • Electrical fires
  • Liquid fires or fires involving fusible solids
  • Solid surface fires
  • Gas fires, where the gas source can be cut off before extinguishing

The system is ideal for protecting enclosed spaces, with typical application areas including:

  • Hazardous areas with explosive risks from gases and liquids
  • Libraries, archives, document storage rooms, and cultural heritage repositories
  • Oil-immersed transformers, oil switch-equipped distribution rooms, and backup generator rooms
  • Communication rooms and computer server rooms
  • Protected areas where personnel can safely evacuate before the extinguishing agent is released
